Specific Gift Language.
A specific gift leaves a stated amount to us:
I hereby give, devise, and bequeath the sum of _____________ Dollars ($_____) to Special Olympics Northern California, Inc., for the benefit of the Special Olympics Program in Northern California [or any particular region in Northern California].

Contingent Gift Language.
If one or more of your specific bequests cannot be honored, we can be named as a contingent beneficiary:
If (insert name) is not living at the time of my demise, I hereby give, devise, and bequeath the sum of _____________ Dollars ($_____) [or ____________ Percent (_____%) of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate] to Special Olympics Northern California, Inc., for the benefit of the Special Olympics Program in Northern California [or any particular region in Northern California].

Retirement Planning Beneficiary Language.
You may name Special Olympics Northern California, Inc. as a beneficiary of your IRA or other qualified retirement plan benefits. A Change of Beneficiary form is usually required to accomplish this. As with any Planned Giving decision, this should first be discussed with your own tax and legal advisors.
